Temer Properties officially announced its Platinum Partnership with Wede Mado (also known as “To the Other Side”), a landmark Ethiopian stage production preparing to tour over 30 countries on an international theatrical journey spanning three years. This isn’t just a sponsorship it’s a celebration of identity, artistry, and Ethiopia’s voice on the global stage. As the first Ethiopian stage production to gain such widespread international inauguration, Wede Mado is not only a work of art it is a national treasure. Rooted in Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage, the play reflects the values, struggles, and spirit of its people, serving as a bridge between generations and proudly carrying the soul of a nation across borders. It is a powerful piece of theatre, full of emotion, meaning, and cultural pride. A Global Tour with a Purpose The international tour of up Wede Mado will see the production performed on 30 international stages across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Ethiopia itself. The official opening of the tour will begin in various African countries in mid-August, with the production continuing its journey for the next three years. Beyond entertainment, Wede Mado is a voice for social change. The comedy drama, prepared by Sem Amanuel and brought to life by the brilliance of Tewodros Te/Aregay, highlights the struggles we face in life and the determination to overcome them. As part of its international run, fundraising events will also be organized for the “Ethiopian Children’s Center for Heart Disease,” adding a humanitarian mission to its artistic journey. An agreement of understanding was officially signed to support this noble cause during the launch. A Star-Studded Launch Event The launch event at Sheraton Addis was nothing short of magical. The audience was graced by icons of Ethiopian cinema and television, including the legendary Shewaferaw Desalegn, the graceful Haregewoin Assefa, and the talented Yehualashet Zerihun, all of whom will play leading roles in the production. The stage was masterfully led by renowned journalist Tigist Begashaw, who guided the event with insight, elegance, and deep reverence for the story behind Wede Mado.
