Beyond concrete and steel, beyond walls and foundations, Temer Properties is building something far greater, hope. Hope for children who cannot see, who cannot hear, who cannot walk or sit without support, and who live every day with cerebral palsy. Through its support to Ezenet, Temer Properties extends light to children who fight their battles in silence.

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”

At Ezenet, kindness is not a slogan—it is a daily practice. What we witness there is compassion at its purest form. Caring for children who are deaf, blind, or living with cerebral palsy requires more than resources; it requires a clean heart, patience, and unconditional love.

The word “disability” alone cannot describe the children of Ezenet. Their challenges are complex. Many cannot walk, sit, or control their bodies without supportive materials. They require specialized care, continuous therapy, and gentle human touch—every single day.

About Ezenet

Ezenet, meaning “compassion” in Amharic, was founded in September 2021 as a local NGO dedicated to supporting children with disabilities in Ethiopia. Its founder, Mrs. Zebiba Ahmed, understands firsthand the struggles faced by children with cerebral palsy and their families.

Ezenet was established as a haven—a place where children can access essential therapy, balanced nutrition, hygiene support, and, above all, compassionate care.

“These children need special materials,” Mrs. Zebiba explains.

“They need movable chairs, three-dimensional corner chairs to protect them from falling forward or sideways, and walkers to help them train for walking.”

Where words cannot reach, compassion speaks!

Initially focusing on providing drop-in care services, balanced diets, therapy, and hygiene support, Eznet developed a comprehensive approach that encompassed the needs of both children and their families.

“We welcome the children in the morning, wash them, feed them breakfast, play with them, exercise, and provide therapy. After lunch, we return them to their families by 11 o’clock,” Mrs. Zebiba says.

“This has brought great relief to mothers. For the children, simply feeling natural sunlight and fresh air was once a luxury.”

The Therapy Room

Beyond caring for the children, Ezenet recognizes the crucial role parents play in their well-being. The organization empowers families by providing hands-on training and long-term support.

The therapy room is where mothers learn essential skills.

“Mothers practice feeding, exercising, and helping their children stand,” explains Mrs. Zebiba.
This knowledge allows care to continue at home, strengthening the bond between parent and child.

In many institutions, parents must pay up to 1,500 birr for a single one-hour therapy session—a cost far beyond the reach of most families. Ezenet eases this burden by offering affordable services, training programs, seed funding, and opportunities for parents to build sustainable livelihoods.

The Rest Room

Every morning, Ezenet’s caregivers begin their day by gently cleaning the children. Many of the children experience seizures and require a calm, quiet environment during such moments.
The rest room provides a private, peaceful space where children can recover safely until the seizure passes—surrounded by care, not fear.

Temer at Ezenet

Temer Properties believes that building homes is not enough. Building hope is just as important.

As part of its social responsibility, Temer Properties has consistently supported local NGOs addressing critical social challenges. Responding to this calling, Temer extended its hand to Ezenet through financial support and personal engagement.

Temer officials and staff visited Ezenet, moved deeply by the children’s struggles and inspired by the courage of the founder and the caregivers’ loving dedication.

Today, Ezenet operates in Addis Ketema and Kolfe sub-cities of Addis Ababa, supporting over 43 in-house children and 60 home-to-home beneficiaries.

For children who fight in silence, Ezenet offers care.

For those who had no voice, compassion speaks.

And through its partnership with Ezenet, Temer Properties proves that true development begins with humanity.
